Fatal crash on I-70 near Salisbury shuts down westbound lanes ST. LOUIS -- One person has died following a crash on I-70 near Salisbury, according to St. Louis Metropolitan Police, who are currently investigating the incident.According to a post on social media by MoDOT, the crash occurred just after 3:45 this morning and involved three vehicles. As a result, all westbound lanes of I-70 in that area were closed.Hours later, these lanes remained closed. Accident reconstruction teams are still at the location, diligently working to determine the cause of this tragic incident.

Youth Science Institute gets grant from Santa Clara County YSI gets county grantSanta Clara County recently approved grants for the expansion of two local youth environmental education programs: the Youth Science Institute (YSI) and O’Neill Sea Odyssey (OSO).The nonprofit YSI  provides hands-on learning to 30,000 students annually through its science summer camps, school and community events, and safaris at its education centers in Alum Rock Park in San Jose; Sanborn County Park in Saratoga and Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos.The $125,000 grant to YSI will expand the organization’s reach and cover both programming and transportation for an estimated 3,987 students.OSO provides free firsthand marine science learning for 5,000 fourth- through sixth-graders and students with disabilities annually. The ordinance applies to cafes, restaurants and other food and beverage providers and restricts use of single-use plastic cups, containers and utensils. Food purveyors are required to provide items made from paper, paperboard, wood, bamboo and bagasse. Fiber-based foodware can be put into green organics waste carts and bins in Cupertino to be processed into compost.
