BART's goal is to make public transit more attractive and efficient after ridership numbers plummeted in recent years. One of the biggest changes includes more service on nights and weekends without 30-minute wait times. "No BART rider will wait more than 20 minutes for a scheduled train, no matter what hour of the day, or day of the week," BART officials wrote.Service on the busiest weekday line, the Yellow Line, is increasing so that trains arrive every 10 minutes from Pittsburg/Bay Point.Only the newest trains, dubbed "Fleet of the Future," will run for the base schedule. The mental and physical tolls of the tennis season weigh on players by the US Open

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 06:05:30 GMT

NEW YORK (AP) — Novak Djokovic considers his mental state just as important as his physical condition when it comes to being prepared to play his best at age 36.“Mentally there is probably a lot more that I’m dealing with in my private life than was the case 10 years ago. But that’s the beauty of life. Things are evolving, moving on,” said Djokovic, who will try to take another step toward what would be a 24th Grand Slam title when he faces Ben Shelton in the U.S. Open semifinals Friday.“I just feel that there is always, I guess, an extra gear that you have inside of you and you can find when you dig deep to handle and manage energy levels, on and off the court,” Djokovic said, “if you’re really devoted to that and if you care about it, if you pay attention to that mental aspect as much as physical, of course.”By the time players arrive at Flushing Meadows for the last major tournament of a long season — one that began in late December and will carry on into November — the ailments ...

Nue...

(CNN) — ¿Cristiano Ronaldo o Lionel Messi?

We’re going to take in this win and enjoy it, but we know who we got next and we know what our mental state has got to be.’’The No. 23 Aggies will enter Saturday’s matchup with the Hurricanes coming off a 52-10 rout of New Mexico and hungry to capitalize off that momentum after a disappointing 2022 season.New Aggies starting quarterback Conner Weigman became the first Aggie in school history to pass for five touchdowns. Bayern refutes accusations of ‘sportswashing’ after replacing Qatar deal with Rwanda sponsorship

BERLIN (AP) — First Qatar, now Rwanda.Bayern Munich’s contentious sponsorship deals are leaving the club open to accusations of “sportswashing” and alienating many of its fans.Last month, the Bavarian powerhouse announced a new five-year partnership with Rwanda to develop soccer and boost tourism in the east African country. It replaced its previous sponsorship deal with Qatar, which had led to fan protests at games and unruly scenes at the club’s annual general meeting in 2021, when angry members booed club directors for refusing to discuss the arrangements.Bayern’s deal with Qatar Airways expired in June and was not renewed, reportedly because Qatar’s emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, faulted the club for not doing more to distance itself from the protests. Both Qatar and Rwanda have been accused of human rights abuses, but Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen denies the club is facilitating sportswashing to deflect attention from the alleged abuses.“I don’t see what we’re doing i...
